Edwin Henry Buelt 1919- 1975

Edwin Buelt, 55, of Muscatine, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Buelt of Roselle, died at Iowa City Wednesday, Aug. 6.

Funeral rites will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Muscatine, under direction of the Riley Funeral Home, Muscatine.

Mr. Buelt is survived by his wife, the former Hilda Boes, five children, four brothers and six sisters including Raymond Buelt and Mrs. Elmer Schroer of Carroll.

Edwin H. Buelt, 55, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at Veterans hospital, Iowa City following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's church. Interment will be at the Island cemetery.  Visitation will be held all day Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born Oct. 11, 1919, at Roselle, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Emma Soppe Buelt; and lived in Muscatine since 1958. He previously resided at Fonda, Iowa.  His marriage to Hilda Boes, took place Nov. 25, 1941, at Sioux City, Iowa.

He was a member of St. Mary's church, veteran of World War II, serving the Air Force.  He was the owner and manager of Thayer Lodge at Muscatine the last 17 years.

 Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hilda Buelt, at home; two sons Dale, serving with the Army in Germany, and Dan, who lives on Route 5, Muscatine; four daughters;  Mrs. Terry (Barbara) Holmes, McCook, Nebr., Mrs. Jim (Joanne) Stuart, Fayetteville, Ark., Mrs. Dale (Linda) Neinhaus, Waterloo, and Diane, of Ames; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Tony, Ft. Dodge, Iowa, Leroy, Omaha, Nebr., Eugene, Council Bluffs, and Raymond, Carroll, Iowa: six sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Riley, LaCross, Wis., Mrs. Ken (Agnes) Korne, Tampa, Fla., Mrs. Lloyd (Lorretta) Boldt, Bloomington Prairie, Minn. Mrs. Bernice Hinz, Fonda, Iowa; Mrs. Louise Eich, Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Mrs. Elmer (Anita) Shroer, Carroll, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
